defyra works as a design group. The "defyra" or the four in Swedish are representative of it's members: Anna Hjert, Sanna Haverinen, Anna Lång and Thak Karlsson. All products in their line are designed by them; and for most, products are made by them in their factory in Grändal outside Stockholm. The patterns are usually the basis of their ideas.

Since starting their company in 2002, defyra has been involved in installations and exhibitions with themselves and other designers all over the word, including Sweden, England, Italy, Korea, the U.S., Germany and Japan.

Lena Thak Karlsson once upon a time aimed to become a hairdresser, had a bad hair day and ended up a designer.

Sanna Kaverinen dreamed of becoming a graphic designer. Became skillful at engrossing ribbons for funeral wreaths, changed career in 2002.

Anna Lång used to be a first class scout, lost track, ended up a designer with a special interest in high technology.
