Here, with our follow-up to yesterday’s Scandinavian style smorgasbord, we’ve captured plenty more pictures including backstage sneak peeks, and some of the “goings on” of Stockholm Fashion Week. Be sure to check back when we head to Copenhagen for Fashion Week. Hej då!

It might not be Paris or New York, but all the Swedes lighting up Stockholm Fashion Week definitely prefer it that way. Touching down on a dark and misty metropolis (the sun sets at 4:30!), there is lots of ground to cover in just 72 hours. Whyred, Acne, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair, and Minimarket were just a few of the favorites captured here on and off the runways.
This is exceptional fashion that ranks right up there with smoked herring and viking lore. Check out the first installment of snaps from this Nordic trip, and stay tuned for Part II, featuring even more fashion, trends, and runway reports from Stockholm.

Sissi Edholm and Lisa Ullenius are two graphic designers based in Stockholm, Sweden who work together under the name Edholm Ullenius. They met at Beckmans School of Design in Stockholm and have been a team since then. Their work include posters, book covers, fabric prints and post cards + a lot more. Over the years they have worked with The Museum of National Antiquities and Museum of modern art in Stockholm, Bookbinders design and IKEA to mention a few.

I have pasted some images below of their interesting work and clever ideas. I like the playfulness and the humanistic feeling a lot. It almost reminds me of the work of the two Swedish maestros Jan Melin and…

Internationally acclaimed Danish designer Rikke Hagen won the prestigious iF Award in 2007 for the lamp Steam for Holmegaard. But her new line of products titled ‘Pipeline’ take her much further than just being one of Denmark’s leading glass designers. Hagen is now merging materials like steel, leather and porcelain into her new products saying, “I am fascinated by how the materials interact and work together . . . as when the smooth and the rough meet, they demonstrate how the difference is in the detail.”
The Pipeline series consists of a teapot, set of bowls, glasses, a milk jug and a decanter. Hagen stresses the importance of products that are relevant and applicable in our daily lives…

Sky high prices of real estate in the contemporary world have stimulated the search for and development of alternative housing solutions. One such attempt is the ConHouse system of small-size housing container units, which takes the housing/office ISO container to the next evolutionary level. As opposed to the other container projects, which mostly feed on the excess of available cargo containers, ConHouse pushes the development of containers manufactured especially for housing and office purposes.
The 2+ is a two-level mini housing unit composed of two containers perpendicular to each other. It shows that a minimal number of containers combined in an innovative fashion offers fresh yet functional architectural solutions. The upper container provides a projecting roof above the entrance as…
