Maybe you have seen this already, the Blow away vase by Swedish design group Front. They made the vase by digitalizing and transforming a Royal Delft vase to simulate that it was blown away in the wind. We love how they take iconic pieces and mix it up new, to create something so fun.

Swedish designer Lotta Kühlhorn is one of our favorite designers, we like that she draws inspiration from root vegetables and that there are always lots of colors. Recently Lotta has designed five new fabric patterns for IKEA, which will be available in stores from Oct 1. The new patterns are called Annamoa, and were inspired by different environments around Sweden, both in Stockholm and the beautiful mountains up north. I love these fabrics, so vibrant and fun. Lotta Kühlhorn has those beautiful tea towels and cutting boards available at our store. Check her out here: http://www.huset-shop.com/lotta-kuhlhorn-radish-tea-towels-p-839.html
Her patterns are currently being exhibited in the subway in Stockholm. According to their homepage Stockholm’s Metro is said to be the longest art exhibition in the world – 110 km long.

Finally the second installment of our trip to Scandinavia for Spring / Summer 2010. This city is one of my favorites. The people are gorgeous and so fun to look at. Everyone travels by bicycles, even the wonderful girls in their heels!
Below is our video of the trip; touring, fashion shows, DAY Birger et Mikkelsen, By Malene Birger, Hunkydory and Odd Molly. Plus there is a little peek at the kids show too. Until the next shows….enjoy!

It’s hard to believe my trip to Scandinavia has come and gone. Unfortunately for me and for all you dear readers, I left my computer cord for both my camera and movie camera at home. Thus the reason no pictures showed up for over a month! But luckily I took loads of pictures and little movie clips throughout my time in both Sweden and Denmark.
Here below is a little movie clip on one of my trips to Stockholm. I’ve tried to give you a little glimpse of the city, Berns Hotel (my hotel while in the city), my favorite design stores and the Odd Molly Spring / Summer 2010 fashion show which I attended at the Grand Hotel. Hope you like it and I’ll come back with…
Here at huset we are primarily passionate about two things... Modern Scandinavian Design and exceeding our customers expectations!
