It was wedding time at Formex, real Swedish royalty glamour!

When visiting Stockholm’s Formex Gift show last week, we were struck by all the “hoopla” over Crown Princess Viktoria and her boyfriend Daniel Westling’s upcoming wedding. The royal event will happen in June (of course!) and all of Sweden is awaiting with much anticipation. At Formex there was plenty of vendors which were showing their official wedding collection of products to retailers throughout Sweden. We couldn’t help ourselves in getting a little excited too. All of these products were specifically designed and made for the Crown Princess and her man, and it was the first time that any of these products were shown.

The collections are everything from porcelain to coffee. There are some special companies that have the order to create something wonderful for the event that directly relates to the original items from Drottningholm Castle.

The pattern on most items is actually a print that comes from a wallpaper that was installed in a renovation to the Swedish Parliment in 1846. Fredrick Wihhelm Scholander was the designer / creator of the print. The coloring alludes to that of a wonderful Swedish summer: Spring green, ocean turquoise and vanilla.

These products are only the beginning, believe us, before the summer we will see so many more creations of the upcoming fairytale nuptials.
