Details

The Munch Bowl from the coolest studio in downtown Copenhagen was introduced in April 2017 as part of their Tokyo tableware series. Anders Arhoj is inspired by Japanese ceramics, but combines his Scandinavian touch to create his unique pieces. The shape of the Munch bowl is large in size with a wide flat foot, keeping the bowl sturdy on a solid surface. When you purchase one of these pieces, you will notice that there is a stamped date on the bottom. The glazing also ensures that no piece is going to look the same each one is individual and no other will be like that one in the world.

This bowl is perfect for soups or pasta dishes, with tall, straight sides that keep your food warmer than an open design would. I would recommend this bowl for your morning matcha whisking or having some cereal. It is the perfect size for your spoon to scoop the perfect bite from.

Approx. 8 x 13cm, Holds +/- 630ml / 21.3 fl oz
Dishwasher safe, but hand washing suggested.

Studio Arhoj

Studio Arhoj is a Danish interior and design studio led by Anders Arhoj.

Anders moved to Japan, where he studied ancient ceramic traditions with rustic clay, handmade marks, and naturally exposed elements, which are a stark contrast to the Scandinavian trend of clean white porcelain with minimalistic details. He moved back to Copenhagen and ran with a creative group of artists. At a design fair, he sold his first Ghost and began receiving orders for more. After years of work his dream was:
To build a house of design and production in the middle of the city...

On November 1st, 2020, they open in a new and shiny space on Skindergade 7

Studio Arhoj is now headquartered in downtown Copenhagen, Denmark, where they create unique pieces through exploring the relationship between traditional Japanese culture and Scandinavian simplicity.

Focusing more on form than function, each object is thoughtful, beautiful, and truly unique. The colors and personality shine through in each piece, and the quality is impeccable.

If you ever find yourself in Copenhagen, come say hello, watch their team at work crafting all their ceramics and glass pieces in front of your very eyes.

Here at Huset, we are one of the few retailers that sell Studio Arhoj pieces in the United States, and our relationship with Studio Arhoj is always such a joy to share with the world.
